Every December, members of the United Chiropractic Association (UCA), including our very own Drs Glenn and Laura, donate a day’s work to help a local food bank. They do this by providing chiropractic adjustments in exchange for food parcels.
We are once again supporting The Shrewsbury Foodbank (at St Barnabas Community Centre), who helped 451 households from April 2017-April 2018. This count includes 339 children. The top three reasons for needing to use a food bank, according to the Shrewsbury Foodbank are low income, benefit issues and finance/debt.
In December 2017, their busiest month, they provided meals for an average of 134 people per week!
This year, the donations we receive will be passed on to Shrewsbury Food Bank PLUS, our local food bank. They not onlyprovide food parcels but offer so much more, from teaching people how to grow and cook vegetables, to money advice and support to help them get back to work.
Please help us to help them!
You can do this by booking an appointment with Glenn or Laura on Thursday 6th December. Then, instead of paying in cash, you can ‘pay’ in food to the value of your adjustment visit.
DO YOU HAVE A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER THAT COULD BENEFIT FROM CHIROPRACTIC?
From the 3rd to the 7th December, we are giving our new practice members the chance to participate as well by offering their Initial Consultation in exchange for a £35 food parcel. This will save any friends & family you refer £20 as well as allowing them to help someone else this Christmas. If you know of anyone who could benefit from chiropractic care, please refer them to us to book in on 01743 588190.
